Description: The 8th conference on Dismantling Systemic Racism, sponsored by the State Education Resource Center (SERC) in collaboration with the SERC Foundation, focuses on ways to support, promote, and develop racial equity in education. The full-day conference supports educators, families, and community leaders who seek to confront racist structures and practices to better serve Connecticut’s students and their families, through advocacy and the development, implementation, and sustainability of innovative, culturally relevant programming. In order to eliminate racially disparate outcomes, the focus is on all students, but particularly Black and Brown students, as well as multilingual students and students with disabilities.

Keynote Speaker: Glenn E. Singleton, Founder & President of Courageous Conversation®

Glenn E. Singleton has devoted over thirty years to constructing racial equity worldwide and developing leaders to do same. Author, thought leader, and strategist, he is the creator of Courageous Conversation®, a protocol and framework for sustained, deepened dialogue, and Beyond DiversityTM, the curriculum that has taught hundreds of thousands of people how to use it. Glenn is the Founder and CEO of Courageous Conversation®, an agency that guides leadership development in education, government, corporation, law enforcement, and community organizing. He is the award-winning author of Courageous Conversations About Race; A field Guide for Achieving Equity in Schools, Third Edition; and of MORE Courageous Conversations About Race.
